We are family run picture framers led by Alex Foster, bringing the highest quality conservation framing to Tilehurst and the surrounding areas west of Reading, as well as neighbouring towns like Pangbourne. Framing to the highest quality for 20 years, we have framed many thousands of much valued and loved artworks for the local communities. We use the best of modern conservation quality materials to ensure that your art not only looks its best, but will be protected from the ravages of time and light for many years to come. We welcome all sorts of framing challenges: as well as canvases and works of art on paper, such as photographs, watercolours and prints, we frame many sorts of memorabilia. At Angles of Art frame sports, football, and rugby shirts, other sporting memorabilia, honours, medals and memorabilia. In addition, we preserve the memories of wedding day excitement and anniversaries by framing everything from photos to seating plans and orders of service. Furthermore, we regularly frame tapestry work, cross-stitch, and other textiles from all over the world. To all of this we bring exceptional focus on attention to detail and always try to provide the highest levels of customer service.
An important part of the service is to assist you in achieving the look and feel that you seek in presenting your artworks. We offer a wide range of framing solutions to ensure that the presentation is right for you, including a range of excellent manufactured mouldings, as well as a range of bespoke hand finished, hand painted, gessoed, and gilded solutions to allow you to choose the aesthetic to suit your taste. We will help you to choose the frame and mount to harmonise with your art, giving you the support you need to make the best choice.
As well as picture framing, we run a series of around 6 exhibitions a year showcasing artists, ranging from the established to the exciting newcomer. This is an increasingly exciting part of what we do and we are always pleased to talk with local artists who may be of particular interest to the local area.
One of the key things that makes us different is our passion for art. We love the way great pieces of art enhance our lives every time we look at them. The same goes with well preserved and framed memorabilia - memories of those great moments you take through life. Our team are all experts in what they do covering a broad ranges of skills enabling us to offer a comprehensive, yet quality service. Felicity has recently joined our team to help enhance and promote local artists as our way to continue to encourage local artists.
Running Angles of Art has given me the chance to continue to immerse myself in my passions. I studied Art History to MA level and have always been a keen artist making sculptures, paintings, and furniture.
I have been making frames now for a number of years and delight in the variety of designs possible, and the new challenges put forward every week.
I look for perfection in every framing job. With over 10 years of framing experience behind me I am an expert conservation framer. I take the utmost care of your work from advising in the shop through to completing your order.
Every job gains my attention and eye before being wrapped for collection.
I am a Guild Commended Framer with a background in carpentry. I cut and join most of the frames and stretch all the textiles whether they are football shirts, cross-stitches, or tapestries.
You will not really see me in the shop as I am probably building your frames in the workshop.
I have a long career in law and running companies which has given me the knowledge and experience to help Alex and his team run Angles of Art, and deliver their ambitions to make the perfect frame for every picture and every client.
I usually help from behind the scenes and aid with planning what we will do next to make the service and the experience even better.
You may see me in the shop finishing off our picture frames. I am also often serving, so we might meet if you drop in to choose a frame for your artworks.
Art has always been my passion, and I trained at the Courtauld Institute in the restoration of oil paintings. At Angles of Art I oversee restoration activities, making sure we use restorers that work to a high standard.
I also enjoy helping customers in the shop choose the framing solution which shows their pictures at their best and help finishing off our picture frames.
